Nestled in the heart of the Dengie Peninsula opposite "Toad Hall" in Latchingdon, The Blue Toad Restaurant offers some of the finest cuisine to be found for many miles around. Resident Head Chef Stuart Larke takes pride in both preparation and plate presentation. Generous portions, freshly prepared and cooked are the order of the day.
Our specially selected menu is wide ranging in order to cater for all tastes. There are no gimmicks, just high quality food served in comfortable surroundings with a pleasant ambience. We are delighted to cater for special requirements, but to prepare dishes not on our extensive menu we ask for at least 24 hours notice. We have delivered on past requests including fruit de mer, old fashioned braised steak, onion and bacon suet pudding, lobster, rabbit stew, kebabs Iranian style, plus old fashioned puddings that clients still hanker after. Just ask and we will deliver whenever we are able.
We offer 17 wines plus pudding wines and champagnes. A full range of spirits and cocktails are available as well as Spitfire beer, Orangeboom Lager and a number of bottled beers. The average cost of a three course meal at The Blue Toad Restaurant is just £16 excluding alcohol. Children are most welcome and are offered a special menu at a cost of £6.95 which includes a main course, drink and ice cream.
